Sweet-and-sour chicken

- 600 grams chicken breast cut into strips or chunks
- 500 ml vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tbsp spice for chicken
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
Sauce
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ⅓ cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup pineapple chunks canned
- 1 small onion diced
- 1 small green pepper diced
Mix all the sauce ingredients, except pineapple, onion and green pepper.
Whisk eggs.
Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Add spice to flour.
Heat the oil in a skillet or pot.
Dip the chicken pieces in flour, then in egg mix.
Fry in the heated oil for 2 - 3 minutes until brown and cooked through.
Use tongs to remove chicken form oil and drain on kitchen towel.
Add 1 tablespoon of the oil to a wok.
Fry onions and green pepper for 2 minutes.
Add sauce and cook for 1 minute.
Add chicken chunks and pineapple and stir through.
